UNISON Newsletter - Edition 5

Our Third Year

Our Third YearThis edition marks the third year of our newsletter’s existence. We are very proud of this and want to thank you, our clients, for providing the ideas for the content of our newsletters. In the past two years, our topics have included how UNISON promotes a higher level of interactivity; how UNISON is extremely cost effective (ROI); how UNISON is global yet is just as effective at the most local of local levels ; and how UNISON’s fully recorded results give you the hard evidence to put in front of C-suite executives that proves the effectiveness of training. We encourage you to read these past articles. They have just as much relevance in the context of today’s hot topics of innovation, accelerated training, speedy but thorough certification, thought leadership, and collaboration.

Crowds," wrote that "a group’s collective solutions may well be smarter than even the smartest person’s solution." Mr. Surowiecki illustrated his point with case studies: for example, the combined wisdom of the NASA team that brought Apollo 13 back to Earth safely and the search for the cause of the SARS virus by a collaborative team effort of medical authorities worldwide.
Global Reach
This is the second article on the UNISON experience in China where UNISON helped support an initiative conducted by a pharmaceutical company to promote medical education and multi-cultural education in connection with its Global Observational Study on a new product.

Global Reach
UNISON continued to bridge the language and cultural gaps of the pharmaceutical observations meetings in China. The UNISON Team had already helped to deliver the latest medical education techniques on diabetes to local Chinese physicians in Wuhan, Dalian, Changchun, Nanjing and Jinan. The Team moved on to support the observation meetings in Chengdu, Hangzhou, Qin Huangdao.

Unison End to End Meeting Solutions

UNISON is now offering corporations and our meeting production colleagues end-to-end meeting solutions to include theme creation, staging, openers, closers, stings, video roll-ins, speaker support (writing, PowerPoint® graphics, and video), keynote speaker research and booking, entertainment casting and management, and, of course, the UNISON process design, and collaborative meeting experience.

Did U Know?Patrick Laughlin, PhD, found groups of three, four or five perform better at complex problem-solving than the most capable person did alone.

From Article: "Groups Perform Better Than the Best Individuals on Letters-to-Numbers Problems: Effects of Group Size”, Patrick Laughlin, Erin Hatch, Jonathan Silver, and Lee Boh, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign; Journal of Personality and Social Psychology,

Work teams composed of similar thinking styles may produce good work, but they are unlikely to produce great results. For that, you have to value and expect the best from the most unexpected sources. If you do, the final results can be truly breathtaking.

“All the feedback I have heard seems to indicate that this was the best launch meeting we have ever had. [The Managers] did not have to worry about the workshops and could focus in on the coaching and development of their people. [They had] the freedom to really observe, listen, and provide feedback. This is ultimately a testament to the value of UNISON,...You and your team made me look like a genius!”
-Pharmaceutical Marketing Manager

Dot
