Welcome
to the inaugural edition of UNISON News, the quarterly e-newsletter
of UNISON,
the collaborative meeting experience™.
The aim of this newsletter is to share our thoughts and philosophy on the
demands and discipline of the interactive meeting process (ROI).
We also want to share the thoughts and successful UNISON experiences of our
clients (U-View).
Finally we want to highlight unique uses of UNISON (U-Learn)
and describe recent innovations (U-Compete)
with the idea of provoking your thinking on how UNISON can transform your
next meeting, conference, tradeshow, workshop or training session into an
extraordinarily collaborative, interactive, efficient and productive experience.
Read. Enjoy. And think of the possibilities! |
 |
| Senior business executives
want concrete measurable results, whether it's for a major technology
upgrade or the next annual sales force meeting. UNISON and its
unique design process provide the "means" to get the "end"
results that C-suite executives demand. |
 |
| Everywhere
we turn today, we see, read or hear the phrase Return on
Investment (ROI). Do a Google search on "Return On Investment" |
 |
and
more than 7,000,000 results appear,
ranging from ROI on training1 to
ROI on Needle
and Syringe programs in Australia2. So why all
the fuss about ROI?
Simply put: expense control,
cost reductions, revenue enhancement and productivity gains.
Leaders need to know |
| that their investment
has value. Shareholders and investors
are holding C-Level executives' feet to the fire about
unnecessary spending. Those executives in turn are holding
their direct reports' feet to the fire. No one is spared.
Everyone must prove a positive return on the investment --
from the finance department to IT to procurement to meeting
planners. |
| The ROI for capital investments such as major technology
purchases, outsourcing services and annual vendor contracts
are computed and submitted for approval every day. |

Dan
Kerr, Director of Global Development of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu
and a pioneer user of UNISON, talks about his experiences with
the process and the tecnology.
UNISON: You have been a long-time user of
UNISON for Deloitte's Global New Partners Meetings. Would
you explain why you use UNISON for these meetings?
DK: We use UNISON to enhance the
effectiveness of our plenary sessions and to capture,
summarize, and share the combined thinking of large
groups of participants.
UNISON: Hark back to the first time
you used UNISON, what were your concerns?
DK: The main concern was the lack of advanced
planning as to how the technology was to be used in each session
prior to the program.

Training
and Development – Crucial to Sales
The training and development (T&D) process has become a crucial
part of drug launch meetings and a major driving force for generating
more sales income. What’s more, in this era of 24/7, T&D designers
in all industries are being tasked to develop selling skills
programs and assessments that prepare their sales forces to "hit
the ground running" within hours of the close of the training
session. But, collecting test data, examining that data and grading
may take days, weeks and some times months after the training
event.
Introducing U- Learn
U-Learn is
a training accelerator and process that tests and certifies an
unlimited number of participants generating real time computations
of assessments, certifications and competitions in a "live" group
environment. UNISON's software engineers developed
U-Learn for
several major prescription drug launches where a total of more
than 6,600 sales representatives had to be tested and certified
in strict selling guidelines mandated by US federal regulators.
UNISON "passed" with flying colors processing, tracking,
computing and archiving test scores of the sales representatives
by individual, by table, by room and by regional teams.

Get
Scores Instantly - Individuals, Teams, Regions!
Live score boards simulating leader board standings in golf, Las Vegas parlors and auto races have added an exciting new element to meetings. Imagine having your attendees locked in a competition for first, second and third place prizes. U-Compete makes it happen!
Assign Points to Meeting Activities
U-Compete gives a meeting designer the ability to assign points to every
meeting activity and then track and compute scores singly and cumulatively
for all meeting participants. Leader's names -- individual, team, or regional
group -- are displayed on large screens placed in a common area.
U-Compete Updates Scores Continuously
Scores and leader standings - individual, team or regional group - are updated
throughout the meeting compelling audience members to compete harder to win
the trip to Hawaii, the 10 digital cameras or the $500 gift certificate to
Best Buy.
